Assistive Technology Assessments are designed to support employees with specific needs in overcoming challenges in the workplace.

These assessments are particularly beneficial for neurodivergent individuals or those with disabilities who may experience barriers related to reading and writing, organisation and memory, sensory processing, physical access or communication.

Our professional, in-house assessor works closely with the individual to understand challenges faced in their workplace environment. Following the assessment, a comprehensive report is provided, detailing the findings and offering tailored recommendations to improve accessibility, productivity, and independence at work.

Why And When Should I Commission Assistive Technology Assessments?

As a responsible employer, you will want to ensure that all your staff feel supported, valued and have opportunities to maximise their productivity.  You will also want to comply with your duty to make reasonable adjustments under The Equality Act 2010.

What Will Our Assistive Technology Assessments Identify?

  • The individual’s strengths, preferred learning or communication styles
  • Specific challenges or barriers that the individual is experiencing
  • Relevant assistive technologies that could support the individual’s needs
  • Environmental factors affecting performance (such as lighting, noise levels, workplace layout)
  • Accessibility needs related to physical or sensory limitations
  • Reasonable adjustments including flexible working, additional breaks and administration of medication
  • Recommendations for ongoing support, training or coaching

Assistive Technology Assessments Procedure

  • Our in-house assessor will be assigned the request for the assessment
  • An assessment appointment will be arranged within three working days of initial receipt of referral
  • Upon agreeing a convenient date with the employee, the assessor will conduct the assessment
  • Upon completion of the assessment, a detailed report will be submitted within 14 days to the employer
