Kensington ErgoSoft Wrist Rest Product Details

Kensington ErgoSoft Wrist Rest provides an ultra-soft exterior while being supported by get-cushioned padding, providing unmatched comfort and support. Offering the softest materials available, this wrist rest resists sticking to your skin and easily wipes clean.

The wrist rest has been designed with ergonomist input and approval to provide optimal health, comfort, and protection through proper alignment, tailored dimensions, and a unique curve design. This helps to minimise pressure and protects against repetitive strain in your hands and wrists.

Professional specification provides sophisticated low-profile elegance and the non-skid rubber backing keeps the rest from slipping whether you are working or gaming.

The wrist rest can be wiped down for easy cleaning and it meets MIL-STD-810H Method 504.3 Contamination by Fluids. This ensures resistance to breakdown when exposed to cleaning and disinfecting solvents such as alcohol and bleach for at least 24 hours.

The standard version is suitable for keyboards with a front height of 10mm-20mm and the slim version is designed for keyboards with a front height of less than 10mm.

Ergonomic Benefits

Ergonomic wrist rests ensure good posture by limiting the angle to which your wrists can bend, avoiding unnecessary stress on your wrists. It is important to note that wrist rests shouldn’t provide the surface from which to work, moreover, your hands should move freely and be elevated above the rest. A good ergonomic posture ensures your arms sit naturally and parallel with the floor, with your hands supported at the same height.

During periods of downtime, or when your work routines do not require keyboard or mouse use, wrist rests provide a comfortable surface to rest and this should be via the heel or palm of your hand. This helps prevent compression in your blood vessels, tendons and nerves which is one of the causes of carpal tunnel syndrome. Resting your wrist on a hard surface like a table causes pressure on your wrists, making the rest potentially harmful.
